Norfolk Bowling Club
The Norfolk Bowling Club, is located in the Cathedral City of Norwich in the East Anglian county of Norfolk. We have two outdoor greens (one not currently in use) and seven indoor rinks. We are affiliated to Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd and both the Men's and Ladies Indoor and Outdoor County Associations and offer competitive bowls, to those who want it, at National, County and club level in both team and individual formats.
We welcome new members from 8 to 80 and beyond, whether an experienced player or new to our wonderful game, please use our website to gain more information on the history of our club, which celebrated its centenary in 2022, and what we can offer. 12th July - Men’s County championships - congratulations to Karl Brooks & Matty Carter who won their semi final pairs match, and to Wayne Willgress and Tom Cooper who won their 4 bowl singles semi finals and will now face each other in the final. All players, and our representatives in the fours and triples county finals, now progress to the national championships in August at Leamington.
The county finals will be held 26/27 July at Thorpe Rec (see county website for details).

So even if you aren’t playing then please come along to watch and support a great cause.
BBQ available all day starting with Bacon rolls from 9am. Burgers and Jumbo Sausages will be available after the second session and throughout the tournament. Please note the BBQ will be Cash only.
If you are able to provide cakes etc. for the cake stall to be sold on the day this would be very welcome, please speak to Janet or Helen if you need any further information. Also, we would welcome any raffle prize donations, again please speak to Janet or Helen.
Proceeds from the raffle and BBQ go to the Big C so come along and please support this worthy cause, even if you aren’t going to play it promises to be a great event.
9th July - Carol Bardwell - Carol’s funeral will take place at Earlham Crematorium on Wednesday 30th July at 11:30am, followed with the wake at R G Carters Bowls Club.

9th July - Men’s County championships - congratulations to our fours and triples teams who won their semi final matches earlier this week. They now progress to county finals and also the national championships in August at Leamington. The semi finals of the pairs and 4 bowl singles will be held Thursday 10th and Friday 11th at County Arts BC commencing at 6.30pm.
9th July - Match results - our friendly game on Friday afternoon 4th July resulted in a comfortable win for Norfolk Bowling Club versus Essex vice president 136-84, with one of our rinks winning 38-4. Well done, Philip Duffield Paul Lancaster and Ann White.
Yare league, the A team had A 5-2 win at home on Monday night 8th July 69-60, with top rink skipped by David Jobber winning 23-12.

7th July - Ladies update - this weekend completed the county pairs and 4 wood singles QF and semis.
In the pairs Suzanne King and Jackie Devitt won both games to proceed to the national finals. Commiserations to Katherine and Christine Rednall who lost in the semis and Sophie Blanche and Nicola Segolo who lost in QF
In the singles Katherine Rednall and Rebecca Willgress both won their semi final games and proceed to the national finals. Commiserations to Jackie Devitt who lost to Rebecca in semis after a 27 end game and Connie Dowe who made it to the QF.

7th July - Men’s County championships - updates from the quarter finals held last week at Aldiss Park
County Pairs : Karl Brooks & Matty Carter won 16-8 against a pair from County Arts and progress to the semi final on Thursday 10th July at County Arts BC commencing at 6.30pm.
County 4 Bowl Singles : Wayne Willgress won 21-12 against John Tufts, and Tom Cooper won 21-19 against Ali Stevenson (W/Dell), and they progress to the semi final on Friday 11th July at County Arts BC commencing at 6.30pm.
4th July - Carol Bardwell - it is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart, that we share the news of the passing of Carol Bardwell earlier today.
To many members throughout the club, especially in the ladies county league B team, Carol was a dear friend, mentor and an inspiration to us all.

2nd July - Men’s County championships - updates from the quarter finals held earlier this week at Aldiss Park
County Fours : John Tufts, Richard Summers, James Segolo (sub) & Wayne Willgress won 21-16 against a four from County Arts and progress to the semi final on Monday 7th July at Thorpe Rec BC commencing at 6.30pm.
County Triples : John Tufts, Richard Summers & Wayne Willgress won 16-4 against a triple from County Arts and progress to the semi final on Tuesday 8th July at County Arts BC commencing at 6.30pm.
The remaining quarter finals of the pairs and 4 bowl singles will be held at Aldiss Park, Thursday 3rd, and Friday 4th respectively commencing at 6.30pm.

30th June - International update - Congratulations to Katherine Rednall and Wayne Willgress who were part of the victorious England Senior teams in the International series held in Wales over the weekend.
30th June - Ladies update - Firstly congrats to Sophie Blanche, Nicola Segolo and Louise Knights who have qualified for Leamington in the ladies triples. We wish them all the best for the national finals.
The ladies are well into the remaining county competitions and have representatives in the county pairs, singles, 2 wood singles and senior fours which are now nearing the quarter finals, please click here for more details.
The ladies national top club had a good win against Acle in the area semi final and now play Felixstowe in the area final, date to be confirmed. The county top club team play their first game away to Thorpe Rec on 3rd July at 6.30pm. as always spectators very welcome.
The Webb team are playing Connaught on 10th July @ 6.30pm. One rink home and one away again spectators very welcome.

26th June - Men's update - the men's county competitions are now reaching the latter stages.
Congratulations to Ian Catchpole who has reached the county final of the two bowl singles and qualifies for the national finals in August. Our Senior Fours of Marty Ellis, Phil Richards, David Staff & Steve Wells reached the semi final but fell just short against a strong team from Upwell.
Next week sees the majority of the county quarter finals all to be played at Aldiss Park commencing at 6:30pm each evening

National & County Competition Bookings via Bowlr - please click here for important information in relation to the booking of rinks for national and county competitions via Bowlr.
Rink Bookings - members are reminded that rinks must be booked for all games, even for a roll-up on an empty rink. Please ensure that rinks are booked via the Bowlr system in advance of your game or on arrival at the club via the monitor by the office.
