The Norfolk Bowling Club, is located in the Cathedral City of Norwich in the East Anglian county of Norfolk. We have two outdoor greens (one not currently in use) and seven indoor rinks. We are affiliated to Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd and both the Men's and Ladies Indoor and Outdoor County Associations and offer competitive bowls, to those who want it, at National, County and club level in both team and individual formats.

We welcome new members from 8 to 80 and beyond, whether an experienced player or new to our wonderful game, please use our website to gain more information on the history of our club, which celebrated its centenary in 2022, and what we can offer. 28th October - Rinks available Friday 7th November at 6.30pm for nationals, county and club competitions or rearranged league games.

You will need to contact the office by email to contactus@norfolkbc.org.uk to book a rink providing full details of the match to be played. Rinks will be allocated on a first come first served basis and the club policy on booking priority will apply.

27th October - Men's Club Comps - just a reminder that matches in the Singles and Pairs have matches to be played by 2/11 and 23/11, challengers please ensure games are scheduled promptly, as if necessary games will be awarded as walkovers.

26th October - Ladies County B Team - yesterday we travelled to Acle to play against Acle C, for our second game of the season.

The game was played in the correct spirit and the measure came out often to decide the score on all 4 rinks. NBC pulled out all stops to get a win of 6 1/2 pts 47 shots, Acle 1 1/2pts 46 shots. Well done team, a tense afternoon for our supporters.- report Rachel Stevenson B Team Captain.

Rink Bookings - members are reminded that rinks must be booked for all games, even for a roll-up on an empty rink. Please ensure that rinks are booked via the Bowlr system in advance of your game or at the very least on arrival at the club via the monitor by the office.

Bowlr Domestic Leagues Fixtures - some domestic league games will be moved, in line with club policy, to a different rink to accommodate national/county bookings. Please check Bowlr or the TV screen in the hallway on arrival for a game to check the rink allocated for a match.

21st October - Christmas Lunch 12/12 - the Christmas Lunch will be held Friday 12th December, tickets are now available from the bar, please click here for menu

20th October - Specsavers - the Club is pleased to announce that the Norwich branches of Specsavers, have agreed to sponsor the Club for £500 per annum.

As part of this sponsorship, members will be able to benefit from discounts at any of the five Norwich stores for both optical and hearing problems. Members wishing to take advantage of discounts will need to take one each of the small id cards, now available on the table in the hallway, which confirms your membership of the Bowling Club.

These can be used when attending any of the Norwich stores to redeem the discount and you should retain the cards for further possible use.

There will shortly be two advertising boards placed in the Bowling hall and the Club thanks this Company for providing specialist services to all members.

16th October - Club Competitions - the draws for the Handicap Singles are now available on Bowlr and will be placed on the competitions notice board shortly. Handicaps allocated are shown in brackets and will be the starting score for each match with the winner first to 21 shots.

13th October - Open Sets Points scoring - to avoid any confusion over the way in which the league tables show results for our sets leagues, please click here for an extract from the league rules which summarises how points are allocated.

12th October - Club Competitions - the draws for the club competitions are now available on Bowlr, with the exception of the Handicap Singles which will be released at the end of the week when handicaps have been agreed by the indoor committee.

The first named in all competitions is the challenger and is responsible to make all match arrangements by the stated play by date, as outlined in the club competition rules.

IMPORTANT: The Men's competitions which lead to the County Playoffs to be held at the end of the season need to reach the completion of the semi-finals by mid-January. Entrants are requested to ensure that ALL matches are arranged, booked in Bowlr and completed by the published play by dates.

12th October - Club Matchplay Singles - the entry form for the club matchplay singles is now on the competition noticeboard. This competition is open to all members who have not entered either the main ladies or men’s singles championship and/or who are not selected to represent the club in the first round of the Yetton Trophy or Denny Cup. Closing date 9th November,

12th October - Ladies County League -  the ladies A team played their second league match of the season on Saturday against Acle A at Acle. It was a very close match and despite a great effort from all concerned we lost 3-5 (55-65 on shots). Well done to the ladies against a good opposition. We will regather and come back stronger - report Jackie Devitt A Team Captain.

Next A team match is the Yetton Trophy on 1st November against County Arts. Start time 10.00am with be two rinks and home and two away.

This is especially important as we reach the final stages of club and individual national/county competitions.
