Norfolk Bowling Club
The Norfolk Bowling Club, is located in the Cathedral City of Norwich in the East Anglian county of Norfolk. We have two outdoor greens (one being reconditioned) and seven indoor rinks. We are affiliated to Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd and both the Men's and Ladies Indoor and Outdoor County Associations and offer competitive bowls, to those who want it, at National, County and club level in both team and individual formats.
We welcome new members from 8 to 80 and beyond, whether an experienced player or new to our wonderful game, please use our website to gain more information on the history of our club, which celebrated its centenary in 2022, and what we can offer.

17th August - EIBA Individual Competition draws have now been released, please click here
17th August - Disability Bowls England : The club will be hosting a taster event on Saturday 20th August 2022 10am till 2 pm, please click here for more details or contact Brenda Whitehead.
16th August - We have a very early friendly match from a touring team from the Stevenage area. If you would like to play in this MIXED event on Thursday 6th October 2pm start, Tea & Biscuits provided, please call Phil Richards on 07968 276326. A notice will be pinned up on the Indoor noticeboard shortly, 24 names required.
15th August - Men's County League Bales Cup & League Playoff - In the Bales Cup Final, played Friday 12th, we overcame Wymondham Dell with a 74-48 win.
In the County League playoff (WP Baker Cup) our 'B' team overcame Shouldham BC in the preliminary round 74-47 at Aldiss Park. In the finals, played yesterday at Thorpe Rec, they beat RG Carters 61-46, but failed to secure a Premiership spot for next season losing 47-58 to Acle A in the final please click here for photos
13th August - Subscription Renewals & Indoor League Fixtures - All the paperwork has now been either emailed or posted to all members and League Team Captains. If any member has not received these papers or are unable to download them, please email the club who will arrange for copies to be sent. It may be these have gone to some people's spam/junk mail, so please check them as well.
Please note the Membership Renewal Forms must be returned to the Club signed and completed where necessary.
13th August - Men's County Championships, as previously reported our men dominated the Men's County Championship Finals played last weekend, securing all four major titles, click here for photos. They will now go on to represent Norfolk at the National Championships to be held at Leamington Spa starting later this month.
12th August - Ladies County Championships, congratulations to Jenna O'Hagan (Unbadged Singles), Carole Slaughter & Jenna O'Hagan (Unbadged Pairs), Ellie Johnson and Chloe Palmer (Mundford BC) (U25 Pairs) and our Top Club Team who have over the past fortnight won their respective matches at various County Finals click here for photos.
8th August - Open pairs competition previously on Saturday 27th August, postponed until Saturday 3rd September. Add your name to the list on the notice board. You enter individually, pairs drawn the week before the event, so book early to avoid disappointment!!!
5th August - Howlett Cup Final 4/8 result : In a very close game, played in a great sprit, NBC 'B' clinched the trophy with a 68-60 over NBC 'A' . The A team took an early lead but the B team pulled it back round in the final few end's. Much thanks must go to Spixworth for hosting a great final and for the lovely buffet afterwards, congratulations to the players in both teams and for NBC having both our Yare teams in the final, click here for photos. - update from Steve Johnson.

Shortly after the First World War, the Norfolk County Bowling Association, who then played the 21 up game, decided to lay down a new green on which to play important games and the County Cup. Many of the leading players were involved in the footwear industry and the monies were quickly found from a share issue.
It's team effort
The club had a very successful indoor season culminating in National Indoor finals held at Nottingham IBC during March and April.
Our Ladies were successful in securing the National Club title (Yetton Trophy) and runners up in the Vivenne Trophy, whilst also winning the Nationals Fours. Our Men's team were runners up in the National Club (Denny Cup) and also the National Triples, but were triumphant in the National Pairs.
